evoo ag provides its clients from the food trade, olive oil production, olive oil trade, gastronomy and health sector qualified olive oil analyses. Quality, purity and marketing requirements for olive oil are more stringent than for any other food product. Food authorities place the focus on consumer safety and the prevention of fraud. In Germany, for example, olive oil is considered to be the food product with the highest counterfeiting rate. Decisive for olive oil analyses by evoo ag is the current legislation of the European Union. In addition to this, olive oils can be analysed for other quality and purity parameters.

Olive oils can be classified using legally specified methods. Quality and purity can be examined. On the one hand, the analysis can be carried out chemico-physiologically, on the other hand by sensory perception. The sensory properties or attributes are of utmost importance for virgin olive oils, which means that laboratory analyses alone are not sufficient to clearly qualify the product. The same applies, of course, in reverse order, because a mere sensory analysis does not reveal anything about any pesticide, plasticizer or mineral oil residues. As a Competence Center for Olive Oil, we at evoo ag set great store by the correct and complete assessment of virgin olive oils with particular focus on safe and marketable foods.

While we generally carry out sensory analyses in our own trained and qualified olive oil panel, we commission professional, likewise qualified partner laboratories to carry out chemical analysis. Upon request, we also analyse whether your olive oil label complies with the applicable regulations and is marketable, as strict regulations apply which are all too often and all too easily disregarded.
